It's not an endlessly expanding list of rights— the 'right' to education, the 'right' to health care, the 'right' to food and housing. That's not freedom, that's dependency. Those aren't rights, those are the rations of slavery— hay and a barn for human cattle. -Alexis DeTocqueville 1835

Ha.

This isn't over yet, not by a longshot. What they will do, if they are smart, is back off the health care issue and instead "focus on jobs." They will then wait until after the November elections to take up the Health Care debate again in the hopes people will forget between now/then and limit their losses in the 2010 midterms.

This may force them to slow down and alter their tactics, but while they control both parts of the House and the Presidency, they WILL get their socialized healthcare.

We shall see what happens. I just wish that both sides would actually work on something together instead of just damn the other side and closing ranks. Most good bill go through congress when some from each party work on a bill. But, then again the 2 party system is the problem in my opinion.

So do most bad bills.

2 party system actually works very effectively with the political system our founding fathers set up. It's best to consolidate philosophies under as big a tent as possible and have the state and local elections be more significant.

Also, the more parties that are in an election, the more important each vote becomes, and thus, the greater the influence and probability of voter fraud.
We have multiple parties in America, and they do their job effectively of taking votes away from the larger parties in order to try and get the two parties to pander towards their beliefs.
